The SMTP server will be whatever your email uses. These servers are typically something like mail.yourwebsite.com or smtp.yourwebsite.com. If you are using Microsoft Exchange Server, you may need to configure it to allow relaying.

The standard SMTP port is 25, although yours may be different.

If your server requires authentication, you will need to select the authentication method required. Typically you will want to select SASL, but you may need to experiment.

NOTE:

If you are using Microsoft Outlook 365© the settings are typically:

SMTP Server: smtp.office365.com

SMTP Port: 587

If you are using Google GMAIL© the settings are typically:

SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com

SMTP Port: 587

If you are using Apple ICloud© the settings are typically:

SMTP Server: smtp.mail.me.com

SMTP Port: 587

The Test Email button attempts to log onto the server to check that the authentication settings and server and port addresses are correct. You should receive a TEST email in the inbox of the HireTrack System Administrator if the test was successful. If the connection fails check the local firewall is not blocking the operation or that the authentication is set incorrectly - Please contact you ISP or mail provider to check which settings should be used.
