Navigation:  Upgrading from HireTrack Eclipse >

Installation

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The HireTrack Eclipse Upgrade application needs to be run on a computer that already has the Borland database engine (BDE) installed. This would be any computer that is currently able to run HireTrack Eclipse. If your computer can not run HireTrack Eclipse then the upgrade program will not be able to run successfully.

When the Navigator Systems NX SQL Server is installed an additional installation setup file is placed in the application folder (c:\program files\navigator systems\NX SQL Server or c:\program files (x86)\navigator systems\NX SQL Server ). This file should either be copied to a HireTrack Eclipse workstation or run on the server if it already has the BDE installed on it.

To install, simply double click on this icon.

This Installation, when run, will install the files necessary to upgrade a Hiretrack Eclipse database in to a HireTrack NX database. If you're not an existing Hiretrack Eclipse user, then there is no need to install this application.

If HireTrack Eclipse can currently be run on your file server then the HireTrack NX Upgrade application can also be run on your File Server, i.e. the machine that currently hosts your HireTrack Eclipse data.

Running on your File Server will be quicker; running from the workstation allows users who don't have access to the file server console to still upgrade.

When making your decision you should be aware that your HireTrack Eclipse data is NOT changed in anyway by the upgrade.

NOTE: if you are re-upgrading your data after a period of testing HireTrack NX, and you are intending to upgrade to the SAME data folder that you have been using then you will need to stop the "Navigator systems NX SQL Server V3" Windows Service - see Starting and Stopping the NX Server.
